West Dartmoor Interest Groups are varied and range from Classical Greek through Exploring Science, Embroidery, Fruit & Vegetable Gardening, Bridge, Canasta, History, Walking and Singing for Fun…………to name a few, there are many others.
If your interest is not covered there is always the opportunity to start a group or make suggestions for a new group and it’s usually possible to meet in members’ homes. Each group has a leader. This may be someone acting as a teacher or someone who coordinates the group’s activities – as happens with the Walkers, most of whom takes turns leading a walk.
Many of our groups have been active for years with new members adding to the mix, helping to keep the groups stimulated. Some members enjoy running a short season of talks or other activities to cover a specific topic. Every Interest Group works under the U3A umbrella but are self-determining and the possibilities for stimulation, enjoyment and satisfaction are endless.
