A day trip to the Minack Theatre has been arranged to see the Cambridge Gilbert & Sullivan Society perform Princess Ida on Tuesday 24th September. As we did last year, we will be travelling in a 27-seater coach, big enough to accompany the members who want to go and small enough for the driver to manoeuvre the narrow winding roads and lanes in Cornwall!
For those unfamiliar with this comic operetta, the story is about a princess who founds a women’s university and teaches that women are superior to men and should rule in their stead! The Cambridge Gilbert & Sullivan Society have performed many times at the Minack and have a regular slot in September.
The cost is £31 per person which includes coach travel and a lower terrace ticket for the performance and all tickets are sold. However, we will operate a standby list as the date is a long way in advance.
Food is available at the theatre, but members can bring their own picnics to enjoy. There will be a comfort/coffee stop on the way.
If you are interested in putting your name down for the standby list, in case someone drops out, please contact Jane Whitehead
