On a recent visit to stay with my sister Hazel, in West Sussex, the subject of U3A’s came up. I told her how much enjoyment and laughter I had from our play-reading group. Hazel too, had been a member of a play-reading group with two elderley ladies to whom she gave a lift. On the last occasion they had attended, the group leader had said how badly the two elderley ladies read. Hazel was embarassed and the two ladies were mortified and did not attend again!
I consider myself so lucky to belong to a welcoming, interesting, social, happy and educational branch here in West Dartmoor. Surely this is the ethos of U3A’s.
