On a blustery Monday morning, 11 Amblers and a small dog took the trail to Foggintor Quarry.
There was a chill in the air but the walkers, led by Jean Quartley, set off at a brisk pace following the trail and railway tracks to Foggintor Quarry. Its certainly a beautiful spot, featured recently in a Bear Gryll’s program with Gareth Southgate. Whilst we didn’t arrive by helicopter or abseil down the rocky gorge, we certainly enjoyed investigating the rocky areas and enjoyed the wildness and beauty of the landscape.
After a welcome coffee stop the blue skies clouded over and we headed back to our starting point, a little chilly but invigorated by our trail. A great start to the week!
