A Basic Computing Skills course is currently underway for members of West Dartmoor and 8 members are taking advantage of 5 x 2hour sessions led by a Tutor at the Alexander Centre which started on Thursday 25th April 3.30-5.30p.m.
The course has been arranged by learn devon and the aim is to give the participants a basic introduction to essential computer skills. This will include using a computer system to meet individual needs, searching and retrieving information from the internet, smart use of e-mail to communicate and exchange information, uploading images from a camera or phone to a computer and trips and tricks to get the best out of Office software.
During the course participants will watch demonstrations and carry out a range of practical exercises and activities to increase their experience and understanding. All resources are provided and no experience is necessary.
The course ends at the end of May, but learn devon are operating a waiting list and are prepared to run another course for us starting in June if there is sufficient interest. This is an opportunity not to be missed, so if you have’t yet signed up, we urge you to do so. For more information please contact Jane Whitehead
