Each week, the Amblers meet at Pixon Lane for a walk which is usually up to a maximum of 5 miles. The group are in no hurry, and like to amble along the planned route, enjoy the landscape, catch up on the latest news and generally enjoy a social get together.
A different member plans and leads the walk each week and these can be as wide and varied as a coastal walk at Noss Mayo, a trip to Penzance or a variety of local walks where new routes and stories are discovered. There is always something different to experience and enjoy.
Members contribute 50p a week and this week £95, collected since June, has been given to DSRT. A lot of the local walks are on Dartmoor and everyone appreciates the support that they provide. Dartmoor Search & Rescue
Our donations have gone towards the RESCUE-50 Appeal, where they are seeking to raise £50,000 for a new Control Vehicle and the Rescue Centre Rebuild where they are trying to raise £65,000 for an additional building.
Thanks to all of the Amblers for supporting the great work that DSRT do in the local community.
