The weather’s pretty wet and although its great to regularly stretch our legs and get outside, finding stimulating things to do inside can be a bit of a challenge.
Why not regularly look on the u3a website at the online events available which are updated weekly. Most are free, there is a lot of variety to choose from and its easy to sign up for them – but be quick as places go very fast.
Some of the talks are given by members who have specific subject matter expertise – Rock Cut Tombs in the Valley of the Kings; Watercolour Painters; Living History; Maths problems; Cryptic Crosswords; to mention a few. Other talks are given by organisations that the u3a partner with, such as The National Trust.
Having just attended a zoom meeting, with 126 other u3a members, where Paul Boniface, Secretary of the National Trust, talked about how the role of the National Trust has changed during its 125 year history, I can thoroughly recommend it.
