Mary and Steve Dimond, who coordinate a collection from the Walkers every week, have received a message from Garon Willis of Dartmoor Search & Rescue Team (Tavistock) thanking West Dartmoor for £124.70 which has been donated.
Amblers Walks for May
13th May – Valerie will lead a walk from Meavy, through the bluebell wood. Fingers crossed for the bluebells but it’s a very pleasant walk anyway.
20th May – Ann will take us to Mt. Edgecumbe. Details about parking etc to follow.
Longer Walkers, (or would you prefer The Explorers?)
13th May – I am leading and was planning to enjoy the bluebells and cuckoos at Emsworthy farm and mires, (far side of Widecombe ) but with this recent return to cold weather I can only echo Valerie’s comments above.
20th May – Sandra writes, “The walk Doug and I reccied for the 20th May and which Loveday and Richard also chose for us to do starts from the car park just beyond the Steamer Quay car park in Totnes. There is a £2 parking charge. We follow the River Dart Estuary before a climb to the village of Ashprington. Country roads and fields lead us back to Totnes”.
To those who wanted a themed walk around the peregrine falcons, we are hoping June will be OK to see the young in flight.
