There have been a few problems getting the lists out this month, namely Goosey Fair parking, a paucity of available leaders and the sudden realization that our glorious Summer has come to an end and so our destinations will need to be tailored to the wind, the rain and the mud.
On 7th and 14th the Pixon Lane car park we envisage will be full of fair ground vehicles, so for meeting up Barbara suggests you park considerately in Mohuns Park, outside John and Barbaras’ with any overflow outside Ann Rowland’s house.
Monday 7th October – Cliff will lead wherever he thinks to be suitable
Monday 14th October – Elizabeth to Ripon Tor. Fingers crossed, for reasonable weather.
Monday 21st October – Jean Quartley will be leading a walk
Monday. 28th October – At present Barbara will be leading unless we get any volunteers?
On 7th and 14th park outside Kay’s house, house opp the grassy triangle and electricity sub station, for meeting up.
Monday 7th October – if the weather is kind I plan to lead a walk around Powdermills area. Parking on Two Bridges to Postbridge road in layby on right hand side at SX 637:776. If it is not so good do still turn up as Mary has a wet weather delight planned.
Monday 14th October – our numbers will be very down, so Mary and I will rerun a couple of walks from our memory bank, unless there is a better offer.
Monday 21st October – whatever happens do turn up there will definitely be a walk!
Monday 28th October – David and Liz will be back with us and have volunteered a six miles circuit starting at Bere Ferrers rail station. “ We will try to recce the walk beforehand but if we are not able to do so we will simply follow the directions in the book “On the Beaten Track 3” published by the Ply Ramblers. The walk appears to be similar to a walk Warren lead last year and may cover some of the same ground.”
