Four members of the Amblers Group, set off from Tavistock in October for a 4-day trip to the Scilly Isles with Storm Babet on the horizon.
Despite concerns that the Scillonian would not sail on the morning of their departure, they boarded the ship in Penzance and sailed without any problems to land safely in St. Marys and the welcome of Tregarthens Hotel, their home for 3 nights.
Luckily, it was mostly calmer weather for their visit, with a bit of wind and rain and some shower bursts and as well as enjoying the beauty of St. Mary’s they were able to get a tripper boat to visit Bryher.
The Scillies is a favourite for many of the Amblers and they are already talking about another visit in Spring 2024.
