We meet monthly on the third Thursday, in the Methodist Hall in Chapel Street in Tavistock, at 10am.
West Dartmoor is a very friendly group and we start each meeting with refreshments and the opportunity for members, old and new, to have a chat and a catch up, before the meeting formally starts at 10.30am.
Each month members take turns to act as “Hosts” and it gives us the opportunity to introduce new members and visitors and make them feel welcome and put them in touch with like-minded enthusiasts. Members also help each month with the refreshments.
We have a good variety of groups which members can sign up for at the meeting, and prospective new members are always welcome to come along to a meeting to find out more and see what we do.
Subscription – 2020/21
The Annual Subscription is payable in August each year. Due to the current situation regarding Covid 19, we have had to re-define how we interact as a U3A to comply with government guidelines and regulations and for the forseeable future, we will not be able to resume monthly meetings in the Methodist Church Hall.
However, we have held a number of very successful monthly meetings over the zoom platform and it is our intention to continue to do this. Although our activities are curtailed, the current regime still involves paying our monthly speakers and fees for extended Zoom sessions, plus our regular annual outgoings, for example subscriptions to the Third Age Trust and maintenance of the website.
We are asking members to contribute a reduced subscription of £10.00 per person for the year to August 2021 and are requesting that members pay their subs by 31st October. The Treasurer will acknowledge receipt of all subs and arrange to send members a new password for the Members Area.
If you would like to join West Dartmoor U3A, please contact the Membership Secretary for further details and information on how to join.
