Each month we look at an English ‘classic’ – whatever that might mean! A rough guide is that it is a text that has at some time featured on an ‘A’ level syllabus.
All types of literature are covered, so over time we have ranged from Geoffrey Chaucer to Seamus Heaney, from Jane Austen to A.S. Byatt, from Oscar Wilde to George Bernard Shaw…to name but a few.
Some are familiar texts to members of the group, some are a new experience, but in all cases the key element is lively discussion.
